Government owned
In the story “Harrison Bergeron” by Kurt Vonnegut Jr, the story seemed to be meant for the future. He says in so many words that we as a country will compete so much with each other; that the only way to make our country better is to make new Amendments. The new Amendments made so that everyone was just alike and a Handicapper General (H-G) was assigned to make sure it stayed that way. For insist the story was basically a couple watching television, “Hazel a perfectly average person and George a man way more intelligent than normal, which lead him to wearing a little radio in his ear to keep him from taking advantage.” (203-204) With the H-G controlling everything George would hear different sounds in his head when his brain is taking outside the box, like; “a buzzer sound, someone hitting a milk bottle or an automobile crash in his head.” (204-207) The government is controlling them. In conclusion is equality our future or is that the way of the government trying to say that they want to control us all of good?
